About

My story so far…
I’m a computer-nerd, jock, student, mouth-off, programmer, class-clown, Icelander, photographer, metalhead, sports-fanatic, lousy cook, music enthusiast, drummer, apple fanboy, movie fan, Manchester United supporter, silly/jolly/adventurous/hardworking/confident male and probably a whole lot more…
I’m 28 years old and I come from the land of ice and snow, commonly known as Iceland. More specifically, I come from Álftanes, which is a small village located in Iceland’s greater Reykjavík area, where amongst other things you can find Bessastaðir, the official residence of Iceland’s beloved president.
I finished high school in 1998 from Álftanesskóli / Garðaskóli and went straight on to Iðnskólinn í Reykjavík (now known as Tækniskólinn) where I studied computers and worked as a supervisor at Dominos Pizza in Kópavogur. After graduating in 2002, I took a 5 year break from school to work for the Icelandic telecommunications company - Síminn - and to buy the most beautiful drum set in the world, Pearl Masterworks, in order to play metal with my band. At Síminn I started in the customer service department, moved on to the sales department and finally ended up in the Web department where I worked on inner and outer web sites for Síminn, Skipti, Míla, Siminn Denmark, Ring and other subsidiaries of Skipti.
After 5 years of working for Síminn, I decided it was time to get a degree in Computer Science at Reykjavik University and the people at Síminn were so helpful that they offered me a part-time job while I got my Bachelor diploma. In my Bachelor studies, I soon found out that my interests lie in computer graphics field which has become my focus throughout my academic career.
I graduated from Reykjavík University in the fall of 2010 with a research oriented final project titled “Modelling rain in virtual environments” where I implemented and modelled rain using the 3D game engine Panda3D with Python and Cg shaders. After graduation I decided to take my studies further by going abroad and get a masters degree in computer science. I am currently in my second semester at DTU, located in Kongens Lyngby Denmark, where I study “Technologies for digital interactive media” and graduate in the fall of 2012.
I created this page so I could have a little corner on the web for myself which I had complete control over to introduce the world and hopefully interested employers, *wink* *wink* to me ;)
